Tata Teleservices Ltd, one of India's leading private telecom service providers, has crossed the two million subscribers mark in India’s western state of Rajasthan, the company announced today.

The achievement is particular significant as the company reached this milestone in a short period of time – just 3 years and 8 months, the fastest by any service provider in the north Indian telecom circle.

Sanjay Vohra, the Rajasthan Circle Operating Officer for Tata Teleservices, while addressing a press conference here on Thursday said, "The two-million milestone speaks volumes for the trust that our customers have showed in brand Tata Indicom. This remarkable achievement is a testimony of the never-failing spirit of all TTSL employees, management, our channel partners and customers. We have been making conscientious efforts to expand our network by introducing new services; thereby reaching out to subscribers in the circle. The achievement of this significant milestone in a short time-span encourages us to strive further in achieving more benchmark goals.”

With an investment of Rs 1 billion in the current financial year in Rajasthan alone, the company currently operates through 33 company-owned stores and 142 franchisee stores in the region. The total number of towers in the Rajasthan circle is 650 – with another 113 towers expected to go ‘live’ by the end of this financial year. As in the rest of the country, brand Tata Indicom has garnered immense trust and popularity amongst the subscribers in the region in a short period of time.

Keeping pace with the rapid subscriber growth in the circle, Tata Teleservices has also made substantial progress in network roll-out and building a congestion-free network for enhanced customer satisfaction and experience.

“Other key initiatives contributing to this fast pace of growth include the introduction of a wide range of offerings targeted at segments, enhanced retail expansion, rural telephony development, advanced and updated technology, along with TTSL’s robust network,” Vohra added.

Tata Teleservices offers integrated telecom solutions to its customers under the Tata Indicom brand, and uses the latest CDMA 1X technology for its wireless network. Tata Teleservices along with Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited operates in more than 6,000 towns across 19 circles – Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, New Delhi, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Orissa, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (E), Uttar Pradesh (W), Kolkata, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and RoWB. Tata Indicom brand has a customer base of more than 27 million.
