BSNL comes up with massive broadband expansion plans in rural areas

BSNL said that it will cover all districts and blocks of India by March 2009 for its broadband services as compared to current scenario where about 95 percent of the districts and 44 percent of the blocks are covered by broadband.



Further BSNL also plans to extend the services to 1.48 lakh villages as compared to present number of about 30,000 villages. Also from the present level of 3261 cities the services will be made available to 5000 cities.
